At Ummi’s Learning Center, we are dedicated to maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students, staff, and volunteers.

To support concentration, participation, and household privacy, all students attending live classes must have a designated learning area that meets the following requirements:

• Quiet and Free from Distractions: The learning space must be away from televisions, conversations, toys, household traffic, and other unnecessary noise or activity.

• Student’s Back Facing a Wall: Students must sit with their back facing a wall or another plain, stationary background. The camera should not face an open room, doorway, hallway, or shared family area. This protects the family’s privacy and prevents household members or activities from appearing during class.

• Proper Desk and Seating: Students must sit upright at a desk or table with a suitable chair. Attending class from a bed, couch, floor, vehicle, or while lying down is not permitted.

• Noise-Canceling Headphones: Students must use properly functioning noise-canceling headphones or a headset with a microphone. This limits background noise and allows students to hear and participate clearly.

• Appropriate Technology: Students must use a laptop or desktop computer with reliable internet, a working webcam, and a functioning microphone. Phones and tablets are not permitted for live classes.

• Organized Materials: Required books, notebooks, pencils, and learning supplies must be organized and within reach before class begins.

• Adequate Lighting and Camera Placement: The learning area must be well-lit, and the camera must clearly show the student’s face and upper body throughout class.

Families do not need to create an elaborate classroom. A simple, organized learning corner is acceptable as long as it provides a quiet, private, and professional environment where the student can remain focused and actively participate.
